Check out these Gorgeous and Ethical Goodie Bags!

Recently I was asked by a client (and old friend) to put together a Goodie Bag for a charity event he was organising.  Initially, he was after some Rosy Rosie handmade scented soy wax candles to include; but after a quick chat around what else the bag could contain, I took on the job of supplying the whole bag; what fun I had and how lucky I am that I know so many brilliant small businesses and entrepreneurial artisans from all my events!

The bag was to be for ladies of between 45-70 years – all of whom devote much time and effort fund raising. This was to be a ‘thank you present’ at their charity dinner.

Taking our Rosy Rosie handmade soy wax candle as the starter for ten, I quickly decided on our English Rose scent as the most appropriate – packaged in a cream version of my usual box, with cellophane and red grosgain ribbon – lovely and traditional.

And to complement the candle, I asked Emma of Spiral Soaps – who I know from the fabulous Duck Pond Markets we both attend – for her gorgeous handmade Vintage Rose soap. She makes the beautiful rose scented soap with added goat’s milk to give the lather a creamy luxurious feel, french rose clay for it’s gentle cleansing qualities and adds a delicate vintage pink colour.

The third part of the fabulous trio came from Zoe at The Kettle Shed  – a family company, conceived in 2012 by Zoe who wanted to use her longstanding enthusiasm and expertise about tea to set up a new kind of company – one that not only sold real tea of the highest quality but one that also shared its knowledge and resources with the rest of the world.

As well as producing quality tea, each box of The Kettle Shed’s tea infusers (they look like tea bags but classier!) also helps the Homeless. Every time you buy a box they donate tea directly to homeless shelters across the UK – so in effect you buy a brew for someone else!

So here are the final contents of the Goodie Bag – we are all small British artisans/entrepreneurs with an strong ethical stance – producing “Good things with Good Stories” – the essence of the Rosy Rosie ethos.

PS They went down really well – the feedback was that the ladies were really impressed on the quality of the products and the thought behind each of the brands. Yey – thank you to Emma and Zoe!

PPS Zoe has written a Blog too – so you can read her story here 😉
